In 2021, the US EPA published revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule that are intended to better protect children and communities from lead exposure risks and support efforts to remove lead from drinking water. The revisions require Public Water Systems to complete an inventory of all service lines connected to their distribution system. The inventory must include the pipe material and other information for both the system-owned and customer-owned portions of the service line between the water main and a structure and is to be made publicly accessible.

While working towards a lead-free distribution system for all customers, the Raynham Center Water District applied for and received financial assistance under the Massachusetts Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) to complete the water service line inventory and a potential lead service replacement plan. The work performed for this project included verification of service materials through various records review methods:
- Review of Tie-cards specifying any materials specific to each structure in the distribution system and incorporation into the system database.
- Review of Town Regulations specifying what materials were permitted for use in the distribution system
- Mailers to certain customers requesting additional information.
- Review of basement inspection data by water department staff to identify materials.
The Raynham Center Water District completed its inventory and based on the records review data, the water service inventory does not include any lead services.
The Raynham Center Water District is committed to providing clean, safe drinking water to all customers and regularly conducts sampling for lead in accordance with all federal and state requirements. Information regarding lead in drinking water is provided in the Water Department's Annual Water Quality Report.
