INFORMATION REGARDING PRIVATE IRRIGATION WELLS ON PERSONAL PROPERTY:
Home and business owners should be aware that connecting a private irrigation well (non-potable source) to a public water supply (potable water source) is illegal in the state of Massachusetts. This also violates state, federal, and local regulations. Home and business owners are cautioned that you will be held liable should a cross contamination occur between your property and the public water supply.
You can visit our Cross Connection page for more information.
You must follow theses steps if you are planning to install or use and existing well for irrigation.
- You must obtain a permit to install a well through the Raynham board of health (508) 824-2766
- Once installation is complete, the Raynham Center Water District must be notified for inspection. Please call the office at (508) 824-0020
- If the well and irrigation system is cleared of any cross-connection issues, a "well water" sign will be issued to the homeowner to be displayed visibly in their front yard
