The Raynham Center Water District conducts its annual flushing program in early April and early October each year. This program is designed to clear water mains of sediment buildup that occurs throughout the season.

Flushing will be done during the months of April and October.

Flushing will occur between the hours of 8pm and 4am and will last for approximately two weeks

Flushing water mains may cause iron and manganese sediment to become noticeable. Your water may at times appear yellow to dark brown in color. These non-health threatening minerals are known to cause staining.

Flushing can also have an effect on water pressure. When in the area or your home, you may experience a reduction in the pressure coming into your home. That is because of the high pressure that is being drawn at the hydrants at the times of flushing.

The best way to avoid drawing iron and manganese sediment into your own water system, is to limit the amount of water you use while we are flushing your area. Running a cold faucet briefly to check your water is advised. If you see any noticeable discoloration running you water for a short time will help clear any sediment from your service line.
