The Raynham Center
Water District conducts a flushing program in the spring and fall each
year. This program is designed to clear water mains of sediment
buildup that occurs throughout the season.
Fall Flushing

Spring Flushing
Begins:
|
|
in
April
|
Flushing will occur between the hours of 10
P.M. and 4 A.M. and will last for approximately two weeks
Flushing water mains may cause iron and
manganese sediment to become noticeable. Your water may at times
appear yellow to dark brown in color. These non-health threatening
minerals are known to cause staining.
Flushing also has an effect on water
pressure. When in the area or your home, you may experience a
reduction in the pressure coming into your home. That is
because of the high pressure that is being drawn at the hydrants at
the times of flushing.
To avoid drawing iron and manganese sediment into your own system,
limit water intake while we are flushing your area. Running a
cold faucet briefly will assist in clearing sediment from your
service line.
